Be Strong is, first and foremost a love song to my partner Jenny about how I can be a spiky character and you kind of put this armour on, you know, to sort of steel yourself against the pain of the world and, like, actually, you know, it's incredible when you sort of, you are treated with gentleness and you realise actual strength is in being gentle.
For this I went back to basics. It was a 20 pound guitar from Oxfam and a phone note, you know what I mean? That's kind of how it works. Then I wrote from there, and that the guitar and vocals is sort of the basis of all these songs, which we then, took to Ireland and worked with.
